School and Community Based Programming


School Based Prevention and Intervention Services

COS is the state's gang prevention and intervention K-12 program model. Colors of Success school based staff provide case management, campus security, family support, and crisis intervention ; are available 24-hours a day /7 days a week. Currently serving 13 schools in SLC School District and 8 Ogden City School District. Primarily funded by the Utah State Office of Education.

Safe School Planning

Our school-based experience provides the foundation for helping schools develop comprehensive safety plans. Security assessments; staff, student, and community involvement; and active problem-solving result in the right solution for each school.

Professional Staff Development and On-Site Technical Assistance

We are recognized as a leader in providing interactive training in cultural competency, safe school planning, interventions with high risk youth, gender, specific services, and more. We also provide specialized training on primary prevention strategies, youth development issues, curriculum design, and program improvement.

Integrated Family Approach and Collaborative Efforts

All of our programs are family-centered and culturally specific. Bi-lingual staff are also available on 24 hour a day /7 days a week basis. Colors has a stellar reputation for building coalitions and finding solutions, and will work to meet the needs of each school or association according to the circumstances of each.

Coming Up! Making Better Choices for a Better Tomorrow

A program focused and reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors of participants in order to increase the youth's resiliency to the pressures of becoming involved in sexual activity and to understand how to create healthy alternatives. Funded by Dept of Health.

Family & Youth Connections

A program designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors against substance abuse by providing support services, life skills groups and case management services to youth of families involved in the courts system. Funded by C.C.JJ.

Dream Team

An Ogden City based program directed at females involved in the juvenile justice system. Program participants are involved for six month is in life skills, introduced to positive female role models within the community, and are tracked for 6 months after completion of the program. Funded by C.C. JJ.

Girls with a Voice II

A 12 week prevention /intervention program designed to meet the specific needs of adolescent girls. Group sessions are formatted to be fun, and educational. Funded by State Gang Mini-Grants C.C.JJ.

Risin Up

A year round sports program for at risk youth K-12. Program builds character/confidence through life skills training, career exploration , and family interaction. Program is conducted after school. Funded by the Daniel's Fund

Visions for the Future

Based in Arizona , the program, services young offenders by providing job readiness training and job internship placements; an education outreach program to obtain a high school diploma or GED; college or vocational entry support through out Cochise County.
